TASC Error 3, Pump #
Last Updated On
Print Problem
The TASC console displays an Error 3, Pump # message while attempting to spray.
Definition
An Error 3, Pump # message means that the TASC console is not receiving rate signals from the indicated pump.
Solution
The resolution to an Error 3 condition involves a multi-step diagnostic procedure. Follow the Stationary Test Procedure and watch the specified pump to see if it is turning.
- If the pump does not turn:
- Use a voltmeter to ensure there is battery voltage at the pump. Place the meter leads across the positive and negative wires.
- Check the pump battery connection(s).
- Check the pump fuse.
- If the pump does not turn:
If the pump has power and continues to not turn when performing the stationary test, please contact our service technicians for more detailed test procedures at (800) 735-1881.
- If the pump turns:
- Inspect the rate sensor using a digital multi-meter. On a MT500 pump you will have to remove the pump/motor assembly from the pump housing to get access to the sensor.
- Disconnect the rate sensor wire leads from the pump control module and place the leads of the meter across the rate sensor, measuring resistance. When a magnet is in front of the sensor, the meter should read a closed circuit with <1 ohm resistance. When there is no magnet in front of the sensor the meter should measure an open circuit.
- Inspect the rate sensor using a digital multi-meter. On a MT500 pump you will have to remove the pump/motor assembly from the pump housing to get access to the sensor.
- If the pump turns:
If the rate sensor tests ok and the error 3 pump # condition persists, please contact our service technicians for more detailed test procedures at (800) 735-1881.
